Description
- Beta HCG is a test primarily for diagnosis of pregnancy and an investigation of suspected ectopic pregnancy. In the case of Ectopic pregnancy, the fertilised eggs start growing outside the uterus, which can result in damaging the nearby organs and a fatal amount of blood loss.
- This test is also a useful monitoring tool for patients undergoing cancer therapy like testicular tumours, ovarian tumours and Hepatocellular carcinoma.
