- Glucose testing is a random blood test to check glucose (sugar) levels. Random glucose testing measures the levels of glucose in the blood at any given point in the day. Many blood tests for diabetes involve either fasting or continuous monitoring, but this test does not.
- It’s usually done by pricking the finger to draw a small drop of blood. This blood is then wiped onto a test strip that will give a glucose reading.
