Description
- A culture test involves studying bacteria by growing the bacteria on different substances. In the case of the TB culture test it is to see if the TB bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, are present.
- The bacteria are usually contained in a sputum sample taken from the patient suspected of having TB in their lungs. This is the recommended test for diagnosis of Mycobacterial infections.
