The Hepatitis A Virus, even though with its self limiting nature to an individual, can cause life-threatening situations if not brought under control in time. This test profiles you for detection of the Anti HAV IgM antibodies as the symptoms start to appear, 15 – 45 days after its exposure to the virus. It is advisable to take this test in case of a sign of any symptom, because the Anti HAV IgM antibodies become undetectable after six months of infection, causing difficulty in diagnosis later on.
Fever, malaise, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal discomfort, dark-coloured urine and jaundice are a few symptoms of HAV.
