Description
- A bilirubin test is prescribed to measure the amount of bilirubin in your bloodstream. Bilirubin is an orange-yellow pigment that occurs normally when part of your red blood cells breakdown.
- It is used to diagnose the cause of diseases like jaundice, anaemia, and liver damage. Abnormal levels of bilirubin in your blood may indicate your liver isn’t functioning properly and it has suffered severe damage.
