Description
- An ANA test detects antinuclear antibodies (ANA) in your blood. Your immune system normally makes antibodies to help you fight infection. In contrast, antinuclear antibodies often attack your body’s tissues — specifically targeting each cell’s nucleus.
- ANA test is useful in the diagnosis of patients with autoimmune diseases such as SLE, Mixed connective tissue disease, Rheumatoid arthritis, Sjogren’s syndrome, Progressive systemic sclerosis and CREST syndrome.
